Maize

Thanks to the completion of a recent development project, the East Bank of the Flats now boasts a terrific collection of new bars, restaurants and clubs. Today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the businesses will come together for Maize, Scene's inaugural fall festival. Local vendors will be on hand, and there will be a kids pavilion at the family friendly event. Post-grunge rockers Candlebox headline, and the Spazmatics will perform as well. College football games will be broadcast at the Shock Top Build-a-Bar, and you can tour the Flats with EB Fitness. Admission is free. (Niesel) scenefestival.com.
