Mahler and More

Mahler’s Sixth Symphony is a monumental work; its final movement has been interpreted as a premonition of tragic events that would take place in Mahler’s own life. Franz Welser-Möst conducts the Cleveland Orchestra as it plays the piece tonight at 8 at Severance Hall. The orchestra will also perform a world premiere of Ryan Wigglesworth’s Études-Tableaux. The program repeats tomorrow at 8. Tickets start at $74. (Niesel)
