Lord Huron/Escondido

Ben Schneider has been writing music for most of his life. Hitting the road first as a solo artist, he soon began recruiting friends for his band Lord Huron. The whole thing came together real nicely on the debut album, Lonesome Dreams. This summer, they’ve been hitting music fests along their tour across the country. There’s a distinctly Midwestern drift in Schneider’s voice throughout the album (cue the title track for the gist of Lord Huron’s sound). He pours heartfelt emotion into the words, while the rest of the band diligently follows him deeper into the forest. Escondido opens tonight’s gig. (Eric Sandy)
