A heartwarming and hilarious comedy by Carmen Rivera, performed by Teatro Público de Cleveland ensemble in Spanish with English subtitles. María Elena García is excited to connect with her homeland and visit her extended family in Puerto Rico for the first time. Upon her arrival, and much to her surprise, María isn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. Many consider her an American—a gringa. If she’s a Puerto Rican in the United States and an American in Puerto Rico, is she a somebody anywhere?
