Just Say Your Jokes Release Party

Like Rodney Dangerfield, Cleveland comic Bill Squire gets no respect. Take his new DVD, Just Say Your Jokes, recorded last November in Kent. “All through the show I was being heckled by this drunk lady who kept shouting ‘Just say your jokes!’” he tells us. “As it happens, it was my wife.” Then again, how much gravitas would you expect from a 30-year-old who claims Bugs Bunny as his role model? “His timing and his attitude are so great: He’s the ultimate smart ass!” BB would probably return the compliment after seeing Squire’s one-hour DVD, where he cracks wise about drinking, getting high, race relations, his weight, and his penis — sometimes all in the same riff. “I like to bring my real life to my standup,” Squire admits. “I think people can relate to that.” The comic will be hosting a DVD release party tonight at Market Garden Brewery, where he’ll be joined by fellow funny guys Lee Honeycutt, Anthony Savatt, and Ramon Rivas II. Also joining Squire will be Mike Polk and Aaron McBride, for a live episode of the cult fave web series Man in the Box.
