Founded in Cleveland in 1943, Joann Stores celebrates its anniversary today with a special event in Public Square. The store's owner will hold what she bills as the "world's largest finger knitting party." There will be refreshments, games, giveaways and music. Celebrity crafter Amber Kemp-Gerstel from the TV show Making It will be on hand as well. The party takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Public Square. One of the nation's leading fabric and craft retailers, the franchise has grown to include more than 865 stores across 49 states. (Niesel)
