Led by Javier Red, a Chicago-based jazz pianist and composer who's originally from Mexico City, this group draws from American jazz and West African music. The group recently completed the recording of a new album featuring special guest Steve Coleman; the album is scheduled for release later this year. The group performs at 8 tonight at the Bop Stop.
