Mr. Libal will discuss the many civil liberties concerns involving private prisons around the U.S., including the nation’s first privately owned prison, Ohio’s Lake Erie Correctional Institution. Mr. Libal has worked for more than a decade on prison and immigrant detention facilities privatization. He is author of many reports and articles, including Operation Streamline: Costs and Consequences and The Dirty Thirty: Nothing to Celebrate About 30 Years of Corrections Corporation of America.
