Over the course of his 20-year career, singer-songwriter Greg Laswell has drawn comparisons to acts such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave and his songs have appeared in network TV shows such as True Blood, Grey’s Anatomy and the Vampire Diaries. His latest album, last year’s Next Time, features everything from shimmering pop anthems (“Royal Empress”) to somber ballads (“Super Moon”). His husky voice suits both styles of music equally well.
