Folk Explosion

Officially now known as 'Round Town, the Kent State Folk Festival kicks off tonight with a performance by the alt-country group Dawes. The band performs with Good Old War and Liz Frame and the Kickers at 5 p.m. on the Student Green at Kent State University. Other highlights for the weekend include classic rockers Pure Prairie League and Poco who team up for a Kent Stage show on Friday and Leon Redbone who plays with Brewer & Shippley and local hero Alex Bevan at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Kent Stage.
