Failed Evidence: Why Law Enforcement Resists Science

Science has helped hundreds of wrongly convicted people walk out of prisons all around the country; some narrowly escaping the death penalty. Despite these advances, Professor David Harris argues that law enforcement is slow to embrace the benefits of scientific inquiry, instead opting to hold on to longstanding police procedures like interrogations and finger print matching. This program will examine the reasons law enforcement resists scientific change and provides suggestions for the future. This program will be held twice on July 17: once at 12 noon and again 7pm.
