Though they’re now firmly entrenched in the 90s-nostalgia summer tour circuit, Eve 6 still maintains a steady grip on a unique approach to that alt-rock scene. In short, the band’s voice is something that was never duplicated then or since. Frontman Max Collins’ boasts a versatile set of lungs and a vocabulary that’ll knock you out once you tune in. The band’s self-titled album reminds the vanguard. (I mean, how can late-era Speak In Code tunes compare to gems like “Leech,” “Showerhead” or “Tongue Tied”?)
