Distinguished Speaker Series: Justin Nobel, author "Petroleum-238: Big Oil's Dirty Secret"

As an investigative journalist, for Rolling Stone and National Geographic among others, Justin Nobel has researched and reported on oil & gas development across the US. In "Petroleum-238", Justin documents the lack of regulation throughout the fossil fuel industry. As a result of regulatory “loopholes” gas and oil waste has been “spilled, spread, injected, dumped, and emitted across the country – including being used to fertilize crops, de-ice roads, and even to build school playgrounds.” Special guest Pierson Keating, pianist, will play songs dedicated in memory of his mother, April Keating, a life-long environmental activist in West Virginia.
