With whipsmart melodic sentiments, Diego Figueiredo’s talent is so abundantly clear. He’s got the goods for jazz aficionados, but he’ll also satisfy the musical interests of any guitar players — and any musician, really. His stuff touches on everything from virtuosic playing to more cerebral outings, like “Que Reste-T-Il.” There’s a lot of jazz and a lot of classical perspective in his playing. A little something for everyone, really. There’s also his cover of Thelonious Monk’s “Round Midnight”! Figueiredo’s live show promises to be a hypnotic evening of dynamic playing.
