Cult Classic

Cleveland Cinemas continues to raise the bar in its foraging for, and screening of, obscure cult classics. Tonight at midnight, watch the 1979 NYC gang flick The Warriors from the acclaimed director of Bullet to the Head. It’s a grim and criminal New York, folks, and a charismatic leader has summoned the street gangs in a bid to take over the town. When the leader is killed, the Warriors are falsely blamed and must fight their way out of a shitstorm, during which other gangs hunt them down. If you imagine the brawl scenes in Anchorman and Anchorman 2, it’s like that — only taken seriously in the way of bad '70s movies nationwide. It screens tonight at midnight at the CapitolTheatre.
