For the past two years, the locally-based hard rock act Concordia has had a heavy touring schedule that found it regularly on the road. But somehow, the group has never played its hometown (though it did perform in Kent last year). “It is kind of weird that we haven’t played Cleveland,” says drummer Kyle Tresch. “Playing Kent was fun because it was the first time we ever played in front of friends and families.” A veteran local musician who has performed in a number of local High School Rock Off competitions with a range of different bands, Tresch didn’t play on the band’s 2011 debut Clarity of Perception, an album that singer Eric Emery recorded in L.A. with a group of studio musicians. But he and the rest of the touring band that Emery put together have been busy recording an EP that Tresch says will be just as melodic as the full-length, which comes off sounding a bit like Linkin Park as it pairs vocal harmonies with hard rock music. Expect to hear at least a few new tunes at tonight’s show. (Jeff Niesel)
