Closing Reception - Timothy Gaewsky: Castles in the Air

Closing reception for the solo exhibition, Timothy Gaewsky: Castles in the Air, March 2, from 6 - 8pm. Castles in the Air explores the artist's personal nostalgia for the retro 8-bit video games that he played growing up in the 1980’s and early ’90’s. Gaewsky’s colorful and whimsical paintings appropriate and manipulate design elements and visual cues from some of his favorite games. Gaewsky is interested in ways his new arraignments of modified game references might spark a sense of nostalgia, i.e. a sentimental yet deceptive or false memory associated with games from that era.
