Clever Little Devils

Join more than 40 contemporary artists as they explore the boundaries between youth culture and advertising in a dynamic new exhibition, Clever Little Devils, which opens this evening at the Box Gallery in Akron. The artists — who range from local college professors to national tattoo artists and retailers — based their work on the advertisements they consumed as children. As a result, they've produced a compelling tale of what advertising teaches youths about culture in America. At this exhibit, you'll find everything from hardcore critiques of consumer culture, to nostalgic re-creations of favorite childhood ads. Don't miss the opening reception for this exhibit which kicks off tonight from 5 to 9. There will be snacks and live music; admission is free. The exhibit runs through Dec. 31. (Alaina McConnell)
