Returning to making music together after the hiatus imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, CCC presents an pre-recorded concert. Drawing from a diverse collection of European and American composers from the sixteenth century to today, we contrast settings of the same poetry, composed centuries apart. Central to this concert are two world premieres: Three Madrigals by renowned Northeast Ohio composer Dolores White; and Two Madrigals by Adolphus Hailstork. Also featured on this program is music by Aleotti, Weelkes, Gibbons, Josquin, Bennet, Stainer, Lauridsen, Brahms, and Rindfleisch. Let the sounds of playful joy, parting grief, passion, and honor wash over you.
