Cirque du Soleil

Broadway theatrics, circus acrobatics and a vague storyline laced with deep philosophical meaning. That's right, Cirque du Soleil is coming back to Cleveland, this time to perform its new "OVO" production, a show that premiered in Montreal in 2009 as a Big Top show. The storyline basically surrounds an egg ("ovo" means "egg" in Portuguese), and the love story of a "gawky, quirky" insect who finds a "fabulous" ladybug that strikes his fancy, according to the production's press release. Needless to say, this isn't a typical love story. There are, however, the typical Cirque du Soleil theatrics, including 50 performers from 12 countries. The performers will be swinging from the CSU Wolstein Center's ceiling tonight at 7:30. Performances continue through May 1. Tickets start at $39. (Brandon Koziol)
