Since releasing her latest album, Give Me All You Got, earlier this year, singer-violinist/fiddle player Carrie Rodriguez has been busy. She performed at the Texas State Society’s bash to celebrate President Obama’s reelection and embarked on an extensive tour that included a stop in her native Austin where she played the South by Southwest music festival, the place she was essentially “discovered” in 2001 by singer-songwriter (and subsequently frequent collaborator) Chip Taylor. While Give Me All You Got’s opening track, “Devil in Mind,” is a simmering country tune that has elements of the Dixie Chicks, Rodriguez plays a bit of everything, including somber pop ballads “Get Back in Love”) that have a quiet beauty to them.
