Beautiful — The Carole King Musical

Back in the early '60s, Carole King and husband Gerry Goffin emerged as a formidable songwriting duo that wrote dozens of chart hits for other artists. In the '70s, King started singing and recording her own tunes. Her 1971 album Tapestry became a huge hit. Beautiful — The Carole King Musical tells the story of her career. It opens tonight at 7:30 at Connor Palace, where performances continue through April 17. Tickets are $30 to $120. (Niesel)
