Over the course of a career that stretches back some 30 years, bassist and composer Mark Dresser has assembled quite the resume. The guy's performed on more than 120 recordings. He's played with avant-garde types like John Zorn, Tim Berne, Anthony Davis, Dave Douglas and Joe Lovano. He pushes the limits of his double bass and uses "unconventional amplification" and "extended techniques." He has such a unique style, essays have been written about him. He performs tonight at 7:30 at the Transformer Station in Ohio City. Tickets are $20. (Niesel)
