Aurelio Martinez

Earlier this month, the Cleveland Museum of Art launched Ohio City Stages, a weekly concert/block party held just across the street from the Transformer Station gallery on West 29th Street in Ohio City. The series kicked off with a terrific performance by Mali husband and wife duo Amadou & Mariam. Tonight at 7:30, Aurelio Martinez, a
Central American singer, composer and guitarist will perform. He plays a style of music known as Garifuna and blends acoustic instruments with soulful vocals. And then at 9:30 p.m. on the lawn next to the Transformer Station, Girl Chewing Gum and 2 into 1, two documentaries by experimental filmmaker Lenka Clayton will be screened. Admission is free, and food and drink will be available for purchase. (Niesel)
