As another installation of Cleveland Public Theatre’s Opera Per Tutti (opera for all) program, tonight’s performance of La Rondine (The Swallow) aims to please with its romantic overtones in a story of true love. Composed by the opera great Giacomo Puccini, the story of love found, and ultimately lost, in mid-1800s Paris takes listeners to the height of Romanticism. Like most operas, La Rondine is not particularly known for its overly complex story. Regardless, it is considered a musical masterpiece with motifs that pull at the heartstrings. Tonight’s performance starts at 7:30 and there’s a second showing this Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $28. (Stoops)
