An Evening with Kate Moore, Author of The Woman They Could Not Silence

The Hudson Library & Historical Society will host a live virtual streaming event with Kate Moore, bestselling author of The Radium Girls, who will discuss her latest book, The Woman They Could Not Silence: One Woman, Her Incredible Fight for Freedom, and the Men Who Tried to Make Her Disappear. The book tells the story of Elizabeth Packard, an Illinois mother of six whose husband commits her to an insane asylum after deeming her too outspoken and difficult to control. A starred Booklist review calls the book "a veritable tour de force."
