A Tribute to Ruth Brown

Tri-C celebrates the legendary Ruth Brown, the Queen of R&B, with a special screening of That Rhythm, Those Blues, a documentary about the singer, at the Tri-C Metropolitan Campus Auditorium. Following the screening, which takes place at 7 p.m., there will be a live performance of music from Fine Brown Frame, the 1968 recording by the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra featuring Brown. Singer Shenel Johns will be joined by Dominick Farinacci and the East Central Jazz Educators All-Star Big Band, under the direction of Steve Enos. Tickets for this celebration are priced at $25, with students getting free entry upon presenting their ID.
