A Streetcar Named Desire

Marlon Brando stars in 1951's A Streetcar Named Desire, an adaptation of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Gone With the Wind's Vivien Leigh co-stars as Blanche du Bois, a woman struggling to hold onto her concept of Southern gentility in the face of her brother-in-law Stanley's (Brando) badgering. The terrific cast also includes Kim Hunter and Karl Malden. The movie screens tonight at 6 at the Capitol as part of the Capitol's Happy Hour Classic series. The price of admission includes a complimentary cocktail or soft drink and light appetizers. The event begins at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10. (Niesel)
