A Royal Rivalry

After seven games in the inhospitable conditions of Chicago and Detroit, plus a weekend series against the perpetually enigmatic Blue Jays, the Indians open up a three-game homestand against the Kansas City Royals this evening. Kansas City, like the Tribe, has plenty of young, exciting players — their stud outfielder, Alex Gordon, has impressed early. But the Indians will combat the Royals’ bats with what they hope will be a dynamite rotation (to go along with their dominant pen).
