16th Annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration Featuring Mariachi Santa Cecilia

Named after the patron saint of musicians, Mariachi Santa Cecilia returns to Kent's North Water Street Gallery tonight for an evening of traditional and modern songs of Mexico. The performance is part of Standing Rock Cultural Arts' 16th annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) art exhibition and the 26th anniversary of the North Water Street Gallery. Traditional Mexican foods (including Taco Tonto tacos) will be available for a nominal charge. The event will also mark the opening of an art exhibit curated by Vince Packard, featuring paintings, prints, collage, puppets, masks and photographs. The festivities run from 7 to 10 p.m.; the band performs from 8 to approximately 9 p.m. Admission is a suggested $10 donation. (Niesel)
