So's Your Old Man (1926)

W.C. Fields didn’t make too many silent movies. In fact, this 1926 comedy wasn’t even that well known until the Library of Congress preserved it not too long ago. If the story – a drunken inventor ups his social status after he starts hanging out with a foreign princess -- seems familiar, that’s because Fields remade it eight years later as You’re Telling Me! Bonus: A pianist from Chicago’s Gene Siskel Film Center will add live accompaniment to the 67-minute film.
